Mill Pond House is a completely restored 1890's Colonial Farmhouse near the iconic Mill Pond in the Historic District of West Tisbury. Remodeled by the present owner, an interior designer, it is beautifully appointed with antiques, charming accessories, and comfortable furnishings. An old pine floor and interior columns add to the ambience. A new heating and cooling system throughout has been introduced with thermostats in all bedrooms for heat and cool control.
The first floor has been converted to an open space plan with cozy living room, a "smart" TV, a fully equipped kitchen, and a charming dining area, seating eight, kept comfortable with air conditioning. adjoining double bedroom with half bath and a screened porch with a dining table seating area, and beautiful view of the spacious deck and container plantings, and yard rolling down toward the Mill Pond and a lovely quiet view. The main house is 2700 square feet.
Upstairs are King, Queen, and twin bed, two with beautiful views. Laundry facilities are conveniently located in one of the two full bathrooms.
THE SUMMER HOUSE is an adjacent original old barn converted to a studio with living space, half bath, bar sink, TV and WIFI services as a wonderful space for work or play,. A new addition to the "Summer House" has added another 390 square feet of living space to the property.
Children and adults alike will be delighted with the many toys and games stored in the adjacent shed. There is a fence around the front of the property to secure small children,
The back yard and vista provides a lovely pastoral setting often enhanced by brilliant sunsets!
OUR HISTORIC DISTRICT
Our district is very special in that it was the first village to be founded by early settlers. We are within walking distance to quaint colonial village where native people and colonists came to grind their corn and exchange goods. Today it represents the first church, an amazing new library, Alleys General Store and art gallery. Nearby on State Road is a Farmer's Market every Saturday and Wednesday morning.
